Les Gavatxes / Beget is located 25 km north of Olot and Olot is about 60 km west of Figueres. It is about 2.25 hours by car from Barcelona airport and 1.5 hours from Girona airport. The mountain road that leads to Les Gavatxes is perfectly suitable to drive for any type of car, and there is only about 15m of track that leads to the parking of the house. We allow free parking space for any car coming at Les Gavatxes.
The bus company TEISA runs daily buses from Barcelona center (Av. Gran Via 658) and Pl. España (c/Tarragona 129) to Castellfollit de la Roca and Olot (the closest towns from Les Gavatxes). Check the bus timetables here: https://www.teisa-bus.com/es/rutas (‘horaris’ means bus timetables).
There is a direct bus (AEROBUS) from Barcelona Airport to Plaza Catalunya and Plaza Espanya, and the TEISA bus (a service that connects urban areas) leaves near any of these two places (Av. Gran Via 658, which is near Pl. Catalunya, and c/Tarragona 129, that leaves near Pl. Espanya) towards the closest towns to Les Gavatxes, which are Castellfollit de la Roca and Olot.

The bus station is located to the left of the square in front of you as you exit the train station. If you come by TGV to Figueres Vilafant, you must first take a bus or a taxi to the old Figueres city train station. There is a TEISA bus that you can take from there that stops at Castellfollit de la Roca and Olot.

The TEISA company also runs buses to Beget, the village next to Les Gavatxes. The line of this bus is R2 and the bus station to take this bus is in Camprodon. We encourage you to take that bus and we will be happy to pick you up at Beget for free. This bus runs from Monday to Friday at different times (See Línia Teisa R2), but it needs to be arranged in advance. Please contact us to arrange the bus most suitable for you if are happy to come all the way here by public transport.

Send us an email or call us in advance to let us know what time you will arrive in Castellfollit de la Roca, Olot or Beget and we will pick you up. A small fee (10€ per person) will be charge to cover fuel costs on lifts from Castellfollit / Olot to Les Gavatxes. It is not advisable to take the bus at night after eight o’clock.
If you are organizing a journey for a large group of people who are going to arrive at the same airport at the same time, we recommend using a taxi.
We can pick up one person for 20€ the journey at Castellfollit bus station.
For more than one person, we will charge 10€ per person for a lift.
We only offer lifts to and from Les Gavatxes from 9am to 8pm
